Required application documents (for full-time taught programmes):
2. Photo page of the passport
3. School Leaving Examination Certificate/High School Certificate. Include forecast results if you have not finished your studies.
4. Full Academic Transcripts (consolidated not accepted) + Final Degree Certificate + Institute marking scheme. Include transcripts received if you have not finished your studies.
5. English language proficiency certificate (if applicable)
6. CV/Resume. Include relevant technical certificates if mentioned, for example, C++, Java
7. Statement of purpose. C.500 words on why you wish to do the course and why you would be a suitable candidate.
Please do not submit anything not on the list above, for example, a work contract.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
You may be required to submit other documentation, for example, a portfolio for art programmes.
Qualifications & Certificates
You must send certified copies of your qualifications to the CAO. Where the original document is issued in a language other than English, you must send certified copies of an English translation to the CAO. If you receive an offer from MTU Cork, you must present the original certificates to the Admissions office in September.
Program Description
The programme consists of lectures, tutorials, practicals, site visits and work placement. The leisure industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy. This has created a demand for personnel with specialist knowledge and skills in recreation and leisure. The course combines technical skills and competencies with a strong business base. It also offers students the opportunity of acquiring appropriate practical and managerial expertise, which will enable them to be effective managers in the recreation and leisure industry.
Work Placement
There is a mandatory supervised work placement of 5 weeks in Year 3 (e.g. Leisure Centres, Adapted Physical Activity Centres and Sports Coaching Settings).

MTU Cork Campus Live Q&A Webinar for CAO Applicants
MTU hosted an online question and answer event for prospective CAO students on Wednesday, 27th January 2021.
This event focused on courses available to CAO applicants on the Cork campus locations of MTU, and covered areas such as Business, Engineering, Science, Humanities, Computer Science, Art, Music, Maritime and Architecture. Representatives from all areas across the Cork campus locations of MTU were on hand to answer last-minute questions from Leaving Certificate students who are in the process of completing their CAO applications prior to the deadline of 1st February 2021.
