Higher Secondary School
a) Application form, duly completed
b) Declaration, on oath, that the candidate does not hold the Portuguese nationality;
c)Higher Secondary Examination certificate, including grades (Document certifying the holder of a qualification obtained in the origin country, may entitle the candidate to apply for admission in that country’s Higher Education, with classifications). This document must be recognized by a Public Portuguese High School
d) Document certifying the completion of the exams equivalents to students admitted under the general regime of admission and accession in terms of their level and contents tested, as well as with the respective classification;
e) Document certifying the level of knowledge of Portuguese or English according to the language used in the course the applicant is applying for;
f) Copy of the passport or another legally equivalent document;
g) Passport-type photograph;
If the diploma’s language is not Portuguese nor English, an official translation into one of these languages must be offered as well.
According to the 1st Cycle of studies in Law learning purposes, the student by the end of the degree:
a) shall have acquired a comprehensive legal training allowing him to practice any of the existing legal professions;
b) must be able to skillfully handle the concepts and legal instruments acquired in degree, perform with competence and ethics, the chosen professional occupation;
c) must be able to analyze, from a legal point of view, the several situations that he will be faced in the practice to solve, brandishing coherently and firmly in his favour valid and strong arguments;
d) must be able to reach a competitive position in the labour market owing to the scientific and technical quality of the provided legal training;
e) must have attained the necessary skills for an advanced individual autonomy in interaction with knowledge;
f) must be able to successfully pursue further professional legal training, which can be developed through the 2nd cycle and acquire specific skills in specialized training as well.
The Degree in Law provides a solid legal background, characterized by the permanent interconnection between the theoretical and practical approach of the syllabus, thus providing Portucalense University graduated a wide and robust theoretical training that allows the graduated to identify and understand the main principles of the legal system, without neglecting the acquisition of the necessary skills for putting into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired.

In order to provide an interaction with the legal world, seminars and conferences on several and contemporary topics will be regularly organized. Thus, it will be enabled the dialogue with recognized scientific value personalities in the national and foreign legal universe.
In order to promote student integration into the labour market, practicums in law firms and other organizations will be provided.
The internationalization, a constant concern of students and qualified people, will be achieved through the Erasmus Program and the Institute for Legal Research, the research center of the Department of Law.
The Law degree aims to prepare the student for the practice of different jobs related to the Law, including the Judicial Careers (Judge and Public Magistrates), Attorney, Registration and Notary, Public Administration, Diplomatic Career, Academic Career, Corporation Directive Board and Public and Private Corporations litigation.
