Admission Criteria

 The applicant must provide all the documents mentioned in the Regulation, as well as a motivation letter referring to the selected course or study cycle. To complete the application process it is necessary to submit the following scanned documents as PDF files:

  • Recent photo;
  • Up-to-date CV;
  • Identification document/passport;
  • An official academic transcript that you have completed secondary education or equivalent in the country of origin, with final average and proof of access to higher education exams;
  • Official academic transcript records of bachelor degree and Diploma with final average;
  • Document certifying the applicant’s Portuguese language level: B1 level in Portuguese Language and complete the B2 level until the end of the first year of the degree (only applicable to 1st cycle candidates);
  • Statement Under Oath191.4KB, that the applicant does not have Portuguese nationality nor any other country nationality that is member of the EU and fulfils the requirements needed for the Access and Admission category for International Students;
  • Bank transfer slip of the payment for the application fee.
Program Description

It is a Course with a strong interdisciplinary component oriented, since the beginning, to stimulate the creative and entrepreneurial skills of students, with a view to the development of the skills to implement modern electronic systems used today in all areas of engineering. It benefits from the innovative pedagogical experiences on the IST Taguspark campus and from the technological infrastructures there.

The permanent concern to introduce innovative and creative project work in some subjects of this course allows students to create small systems and acquire excellent achievement skills that the job market values ​​a lot. The excellent training obtained in the first 6 semesters allows an easy entry into the Master in Electronic Engineering or other courses, at home or abroad, without any difficulty.

Objectives

Stimulate the development of students' creative capacity in order to train professionals with the capacity to innovate and create their businesses based on their advanced technological knowledge.

Train graduates with a wide spectrum of knowledge and skills centered on the most advanced technologies of modern electronic components, equipment and systems, in all their aspects and applications (communication, control, information technology, energy, etc.).

Train graduates with the ability to analyze and synthesize modern electronic systems especially endowed with the ability to materialize these systems materially using the best techniques and technologies.

All students who want to obtain training in a modern technological area - electronics - with advanced engineering knowledge, with a very strong background, but which will allow them, in the future, a very fast professional integration in industries and services of the highest technological level.

The excellence of the training of Portuguese graduates in Electronics is internationally recognized. 2007 saw the purchase of Portuguese companies that in a few years achieved international notoriety in the microelectronics area and that was acquired by international companies that did not have this technological competence.

Today, electronics is the basis for the development of modern societies and the market has recognized this in the remuneration of graduates with knowledge of electronics. The excellent training acquired at LEE gives access to numerous professional opportunities, whether based on hardware or software systems, services or industry, namely:

Provision of services in different areas of engineering, namely: Telecommunications and Information Technologies and Industrial Automation.

Activities of integration, configuration, programming and testing of electronic systems existing in any factory installation.

Design, preparation, manufacture and testing of small modules required by complex electronic equipment and systems.

Small studies in the area of ​​electronic engineering, with special emphasis on the analysis of the capacities of these systems and their multiple applications in all areas of engineering.
