The general course aims to promote the acquisition of advanced knowledge in European, International and Comparative Legal Science. To this end, the study cycle aims to develop human resources capable of participating in advanced scientific research projects in European, International and Comparative Law with the epistemological and methodological rigor indispensable for international scientific research in Legal Science.
The study cycle requires fundamental ethical practices and principles appropriate to legal science research, with a view to problem-solving from an ethical and responsible perspective, to ensure relevant scientific research for society. The study cycle includes an individual research project that in its term will be a demonstration of highly specialized knowledge, which supports the capacity for original reflection and research.
The course of study aims at promoting development through the creation of knowledge from a global and interdisciplinary perspective. Aims to attract young researchers of excellence around the world, turning them into human resources capable of designing, coordinating and executing scientific research projects at an advanced level in European and Comparative Law, an international collaborative environment and the epistemological and methodological rigor necessary appropriate the production of a contribution to knowledge that expands the frontiers of knowledge and it is susceptible to international refereed publication. These objectives coincide at all with the educational, scientific and cultural design of UPT as their joint and international nature are the ultimate expression of the execution of the strategic plan for internationalization.
Jurists specialized in European Law, Public International Law, Constitutional Law and Comparative Constitutional Systems. It is also suitable training for all jurists wishing to join international organizations (courts, the foreign ministry, NGOs ...).
Do the learning outcomes correspond to level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning? (EQF) in accordance with the Framework for Qualifications of the European Higher Education Area. The conclusion of the course involves a systematic and comprehensive understanding of International, European and Comparative Law, the domain of its own techniques of these areas of law, as well the research methodologies in Legal Science in general and in the field of International, European and Comparative Legal Science in particular. Graduates will be capable of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas and to implement processes of research, with scholarly integrity in International, European and Comparative Law, within academic and professional contexts, contributing to technological, social or cultural advancement in a knowledge-based society.
