Admission Criteria

 The applicant must provide all the documents mentioned in the Regulation, as well as a motivation letter referring to the selected course or study cycle. To complete the application process it is necessary to submit the following scanned documents as PDF files:

  • Recent photo;
  • Up-to-date CV;
  • Identification document/passport;
  • An official academic transcript that you have completed secondary education or equivalent in the country of origin, with final average and proof of access to higher education exams;
  • Official academic transcript records of bachelor degree and Diploma with final average;
  • Document certifying the applicant’s Portuguese language level: B1 level in Portuguese Language and complete the B2 level until the end of the first year of the degree (only applicable to 1st cycle candidates);
  • Statement Under Oath191.4KB, that the applicant does not have Portuguese nationality nor any other country nationality that is member of the EU and fulfils the requirements needed for the Access and Admission category for International Students;
  • Bank transfer slip of the payment for the application fee.
Program Description

MEGI aims to train engineers who have an interdisciplinary view of business problems, with a solid background in Basic Sciences, Fundamental Technologies, Economics and Management. The strong interdisciplinary component will allow future masters to apply the acquired knowledge and understanding in order to solve problems, even in new and unfamiliar situations, showing a systemic and professional approach to work, integrating scientific, technological and management knowledge, and dealing with complex issues.

The acquired skills will allow the Master in EGI to collect, select and interpret the relevant information to evaluate solutions and to base the judgments that issue the solutions that they recommend. The Master should develop skills for professional intervention in a wide range of industrial organizations, services and research.


The educational and scientific-technological training objectives leading to a master's degree in engineering and industrial management are as follows:

  • Develop skills to apply the knowledge and understanding acquired in order to solve problems and show a professional approach to the work developed, integrating scientific, technological and management knowledge, and dealing with complex issues, developing solutions within the design of productive systems (products and services), and organizational structures, subject to technological, economic, social and environmental constraints;
  • Develop skills to change the principles, methods, execution techniques and forms of organization;
  • Develop skills for professional intervention in a wide range of industrial organizations, services and research;
  • Develop skills to incorporate the latest technological innovations in professional intervention;
  • Develop entrepreneurial skills that allow the creation of technology-based companies.


This course is aimed at graduates in the areas of Management and Engineering who wish to acquire solid training that allows them to perform functions in areas such as production, distribution, logistics, marketing, information systems, strategy, finance and consulting.

Professional Opportunities

In global terms, these masters can occupy strategic positions in industrial SMEs, namely in terms of general, industrial, commercial and project management, or in large economic groups and holding companies with direct or indirect interests in the industrial area; and, still, in consulting companies, or in financial companies (banks and investment companies). It is also possible to integrate these professionals in State Departments that involve evaluations of industrial projects, management and restructuring of operations, economic and financial audits, impact and technological innovation assessments and research and development strategy.
