Admission Criteria

 The applicant must provide all the documents mentioned in the Regulation, as well as a motivation letter referring to the selected course or study cycle. To complete the application process it is necessary to submit the following scanned documents as PDF files:

  • Recent photo;
  • Up-to-date CV;
  • Identification document/passport;
  • An official academic transcript that you have completed secondary education or equivalent in the country of origin, with final average and proof of access to higher education exams;
  • Official academic transcript records of bachelor degree and Diploma with final average;
  • Document certifying the applicant’s Portuguese language level: B1 level in Portuguese Language and complete the B2 level until the end of the first year of the degree (only applicable to 1st cycle candidates);
  • Statement Under Oath191.4KB, that the applicant does not have Portuguese nationality nor any other country nationality that is member of the EU and fulfils the requirements needed for the Access and Admission category for International Students;
  • Bank transfer slip of the payment for the application fee.
Program Description

This master's degree aims to train qualified professionals and provide them with tools in innovation management, "design thinking" and development of new products and services, entrepreneurship and technology commercialization, and technological and sectoral policies at multiple levels, contributing to the formulation and implementation of innovative business strategies and public policies, as well as for the creation of new technology-based companies.

MEGIE intends to train human resources that, positioned in industry and services, public institutions, universities, R&D units, organizations dedicated to the commercialization and transfer of technology, or in other fields of the Scientific and Technological System, can contribute to enhancing the role played by Science and Technology in promoting business competitiveness and employment, as well as sustainable and socially responsible economic development.

Objectives

  • Develop skills in the scope of commercialization and technology transfer, namely in terms of technology assessment, market analysis and interaction with users, including aspects such as intellectual property, negotiation techniques, technology licensing and commercialization, development of business models " innovators, and digital marketing.
  • Develop skills in the development and design of new products and services.
  • Develop skills in leading technology commercialization and technology-based entrepreneurship processes.
  • Enable students to integrate multidisciplinary knowledge about the role played by science, technology and innovation in society and in economic development.
  • Develop skills in management and sectoral policies (energy, health, environment, transport, intelligent manufacturing, and information and communication technologies).

Recipients

New graduates of the 1st cycle or 2nd cycle may apply as professionals with business experience and in the public sector, with training in any branch of science, engineering, technology and medicine.
